Come on, Kovu, we all know you can't resist Kiara's naive cuteness ^^

A what if scene with Kiara and Kovu. What if Kovu was a little bit older than Kiara? That would explain some plot holes.. and change the whole SP plot xD Also, i recolored Kiara a bit. Mixed some Simba and Nala's colours and gave her uncoloured paws 'cause i can. I like her much better this way! And i darkened Kovu's pelt a bit, as it darkens with age. The SP artists didn't pay attention to that, however.
And oh, i modeled the bg from the first film. I just wanted to show the Pridelands, not a random land.

EDIT: Decided to copy that here. It's something about the plot holes.
Actually, do you remember the first film, when Scar's reign ended? Zira said that Kovu was born right before that, so Scar chose him as his heir. Okay, even if we imagine that he was born one day and then next day Scar died... well. Then there was the scene when Simba and Nala had a cub - and we see a flourishing land. It couldn't become that green in a few days. I guess it needed at least a few months. So imagine - Kovu had months to grow up. And Kiara was born only then, or maybe even later, but let's ignore all those differences in cubs at the end of the 1st film and at the beginning of the 2nd. So, okay, let this cub be Kiara - but anyways, Kovu would be older than her, and look older. But they look like they're just the same age. Now that's the point - he should look older.

I'd like to correct something here. Zira says "Kovu was the last born before you exiled us to the Outlands". She didn't actually say when that was, whether it was immediately after the end of Scar's reign or not. Had they kept the deleted scene in which Vitani and Nuka came back after witnessing Kiara's birth, then there would have been a plot hole because Kovu wouldn't have aged at all in three or four months.

It's a great piece of art, though.

Yes, but she already mentioned that Scar chose him as his heir to the throne ("He was chosen by Scar to follow in his pawprints and become a king"). So Scar was still alive when Kovu was born. Or else, Zira lied to Simba.

Zira proved herself to have lied in the movie anyway. She lied to Simba to make Kovu appear to be part of Zira's plan to ambush him, and she lied about Simba' involvement in Scar's death. That being said, the movie is indeed a cacaphony of continuity errors.

i thought kovu was older beacause of his height and he is taller than kiara in this pic, but I STILL LUV IT SO MUCH I CAN"T STOP LOOKING AT LION king pics so cute!!!! i rlly cannot literally your art and the other r great and other ppl's on devainatART as well
